In the early years of the public internet, I started teaching soon after my diploma, leading the web and design department of the Futurelab at the Ars Electronica Museum, and realising the most important and extensive websites in the city. On the side, I ran the second audio server of “real-networks” in Europe.

goal: Videos out of the long History of Ars Electronica Festival and Prix Ars Electronica has been digitized and stored in mp1. Visitors can search and straem this database driven application in the museum on special lounge-chairs.
Since the founding of Ars Electronica in 1979, it has undergone a continuous process of enhancement through the addition of essential new features. The Ars Electronica Futurelab is the latest manifestation of this. At the same time, the facility is a tangible expression of the Ars Electronica Center’s endeavor to develop activities which go beyond its pedagogical function as a museum. A step in this direction was taken with the establishment of the Research and residence Program; setting up the Futurelab was the next one.
