Manbō マンボウ

Mänttä, Finland
Year:

Description:
Study of a moon-shaped disc for use and movement by a person. More than a mere covering of the body, it is a wearable space which, through its shape and volume, dissolves the human silhouette. Suitable as a shelter, the form does not try to locate itself in a place like a tent but describes a floating state of permanent movement. The inertia of a Manbō (Japanese for Sunfish Mola Mola which in German is called Moonfish) comes to mind when moving with the structure.
