Inspired by Oskar Schlemmer’s Triadic Ballet and the Koromodako (衣蛸) Yokai, the performance costume AoiAma was created. Crafted from historical, hand-inscribed Washi paper, it serves as a disguise for the legendary Ama diver Tamatori, protecting her from the tentacles of the octopuses. As part of the Koan (公案) series of figures positioned between human and geometric form, it abstracts the interplay of dance, costume, and space.
