This avant-garde cape draws inspiration from the tasuki (襷), a traditional Japanese sash used to tie back long kimono sleeves for labor and ritual. Originally an exclusive accessory of ancient Shinto clergy before being adopted by samurai and the general public, the tasuki represents a union of sacred ceremony and daily utility. This garment reinterprets that historical function into a dramatic wearable sculpture, using cascading, text-printed bands to transform a practical binding accessory into a protective, statement-making silhouette.
